For population surrounded by Germany: Where do you live and why would you recommend it to me?
Answers: I come from Stuttgart and I can recommend my town to everyone.
Stuttgart is situated in a dale and in the summertime it;s stunning when you drive down "Neue Weinsteige" (one of the largest roads into the Citycentre) and you look onto the City with it's historic buildings and see the vine which is grown on the hill all around Stuttgart.
Stuttgart have been done up plentifully for the Football Woldcup last year and have loads of historic sites to visit. Great restaurants, bar, good shopping (for the girls ;-) and not to forget - superfriendly nation :-)
Stuttgart is also situated very ideally when you want to travel - for example to the Black Forrest, it's just 30mins away by car. I used to shopping to Strassbourg contained by France (1 1/2 hrs) and the Swiss border is also only 2 hrs away.
I give attention to you can see that I love my hometown - *blink away tears in my eyes* Stuttgart rocks !!
Hello,
I live within East Germany, Eisenach. I have also lived surrounded by Erfurt, Leipzig and Stralsund - and briefly in Frankfurt.
I would recommend these places - except for Frankfurt - which I didn't close to.
The people are nice, though English is not widely spoken it have made me learn German quicker.
Eisenach have loads of history but not a big nightlife scene. Erfurt and Leipzig were brilliant to work and live contained by, they have a jolly mixture of shopping, culture/sights and nightlife!
You definately should come to these places

I lived in the town of Kempten (Allg"au region) for over 5 years, totally near the Alps, uncomplicated travel to Switzerland (via Lindau on Lake Constance) and Austria.
Beautiful people, fine scenery, striking food and drink etc..etc..

Well I don't live there very soon but I used to live in Dresden Germany for 2 years. It be great. It's a medium sized city next to a lot of history but also lots of bash places. You have a great mix. Food is exellent and relatives are nice. The Elbe River goes right through the city. I live surrounded by a small village close Garmisch-Partenkirchen, in the foothills of the Alps. Here it's nontoxic and clean and comfortable and I can sit on my veranda and see the Alps! Can't do that back home within Indiana! Even this small town has a train station and bus stop so I can obtain most anywhere I need/want to go. Munich is something like 2 hours by train.
I live near Moenchengladbach, 30km from Duesseldorf and 50 km from Koeln (Cologne). One of the delight of Germany is the fact that everything seem to work as it should - public transport, law and lay down, politeness and hospitality. Coming from the UK where none of the above applies, Germany is a bit refreshing.
Oh yes, the autobahns are good fun too!
There are several beautiful and interesting places to call in, not just Bavaria but also the Northern coasts, Black Forest, Moesel nouns and so on. Accommodation is good anfd inexpensive, the food is central but wholesome and the Germans, in the foremost, like the British (same bloodline after all).
I really assume that a touring holiday of Germany is one of the best kept secrets of European tourism and as a place to live I find it provides an excellent power of life. The lone downside, in European expressions, is the fact that it have a Northern European climate and I prefer the Med for this reason.
Why not try a longish pop in and see what you think?
I live contained by Leipzig. I can recommend it because it has a bit of everything: Nice bar for every taste and other places for night out (clubs and stuff), museums, history, culture, a beautiful lagoon for the hot days, nice shopping areas, you don't need a sports car (busses and trams), it has an airport...and it's relatively cheap compared to other cities. I live in the Ruhr nouns and it is the most beautiful nouns in Germany. It is even so sensational that it is European Capital of Culture 2010.
