Any places surrounded by Germany, that a non-white tourist should miss?
I heard stories more or less turks and blacks being attacked by Neo-Nazis.
Answers: Compared to the US, at hand is no crime in Germany. :-)
But, as expected there is. Not as much, but you never know, what you step into.
The western segment of Germany is used to Americans, as we had US Soldiers here ever since the period of war. So you can say, we are manner of "americanized". The eastern part of Germany be occupied by the east block, so they have no chance to fit.
The average person living rough will not be your problem especially not in daylight. But here are a few juveniles with Nazi thinking who would not be nice to meet, especially more than one. They are strong contained by groups, only. There are not tons, but more in the eastern member of Germany.
But again, if you don't search for the fantastic areas, I don't expect a problem for you and since I'm familiar next to both countries and with the matter: There is less racism contained by Germany.
Neo nazis get everywhere and attack anyone who is not a German, in attendance are lots of foreigners of all colours settled surrounded by Germany, it is a nice place so dont worry something like being attcked. Check Out Sachsenhausen surrounded by Frankfurt if you like beer and sausages( together). Stick to the big cities and you'll be alright. German cities are such diverse places that you'll blend right within. If I had to avoid a specific nouns, I'd say eastern Germany would be it. Unfortunately, secure parts of Berlin are pretty bad as powerfully. On the flip side, Frankfurt is the most diverse city in the country. Demographics-wise, it's more resembling New York than a typical German city. It's a great town.
Well, I'm German, from East Germany and my (ex-)husband is black and he has visitted me here several times and zilch ever happened to him. Sadly, such attacks come up, and before the World Cup, some politicians suggested coloured people should keep from visit some parts of Eastern Germany. But frankly, I think you'll be fine if you do what a sensible traveller does anyway: Don't move about into dodgy areas at night on your own. If you be aware of uncomfortable somewhere, move out. In all through cities, and in broad daylight, you'll be fine.
Hey ... I am German! You don't enjoy to worry of getting attacked as a tourist! If you come here and look in the attractions nothing is gonna transpire to you as long as you avoid the poorer parts of the cities!
