Take the Bayernticket. 2nd class railing for 27 euros for up to 5 persons for 1 afternoon in the in one piece state of Bavaria.
Be aware that Ulm is already in the state of Baden-Württemberg, so I don`t know you'll have to buy an more short-distance bus or train ticket to reach your final destination. Ask at the information desk at the station.
Generally, other watch out for daytime or group tickets in the town where on earth you are. These can save you deeply of money.
What Alwin said--- trains are usually your best option. Also, look around at the train stations if you carry confused/lost-- DB (Deutsche Bahn) has information services available at most of the decent-sized train stations. (And they frequently own someone there who speaks English, if your German isn't as moral as you'd like...) Alwin is right on the money. Just to tolerate you know also, the train station is located downstairs within the airport. I stayed at the Hotel Kempinski both coming and departure Munich. This is an awesome 5-star hotel. Besides the Bavaria-Ticket, there's the "Sch"ones-Wochenend-Ticket", valid on the weekends for sometime until 3 a.m. the next daylight and up to 5 persons next to all ordinary trains in adjectives Germany (no ICE). Last time I got one it be 33 Euro. It's good, if you travel on the weekend. Another tip: Offer society who enter the train with you or who are getting a ticket to progress on your ticket for a cheaper price, since you're 4 persons. You'll seize some money back and they'll wage less than they'd usually do.
