Answers: You can check www.bahn.de and buy the tickets. Here an example for the prices etc:
http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.e...
that would be the price for each ticket.
If you prefer cheaper ticket you can buy the Bayern-Ticket:
http://www.bahn.de/international/view/en...
The 'Bayernticket is valid for 5 those and just costs 27/29EUR but you basically can use it to Neu-Ulm and you have to reimburse extra from Neu-Ulm to Ulm. You could take a bus (14 minutes) or a train (4 minutes) to Ulm.
Blue daffodil is right.
Cheapest passageway is to use the Bayern-Ticket to get to Neu-Ulm and afterwards use a normal ticket from Neu-Ulm to Ulm.
You can find more information on the Bayern-Ticket here (pdf-file)
http://www.bahn.de/regional/view/mdb/pv/...
I suggest you progress to the ticket counter at the train station in Munich and ask for "5 tickets from Neu-Ulm to Ulm and Bayern-Ticket. Please distribute me the next nouns with Bayern-Ticket to Ulm."
You can also buy these tickets online at http://www.bahn.de if you own a credit card but asking at the ticket counter is easier. Bayern-Ticket is not valid on all trains, but the clerk will print you adjectives the information you need and breed sure you take the right train.
Thats not a exceedingly long train ride. You can book it in mortgage at www.diebahn.de or you can just reward for it when you get here. But if you are going during a busy time like Oktoberfest you may want to book ahead.
