Has anybody ever hear nearly a German town call St Wendel?

I looked at their tourist info, but I'd like to know what energy is like within. My youngest daughter (17) has official an au-pair placement there.

Answers:    I've not be there for a few years, but I've still get friends there.
It is a calm little town, not much night natural life (which should please you!) adorable landscape, really nice those and good food.
It is the shopping town for the surrounding village, and there are plenty of shops, one public library, and two parochial ones, one Catholic and one Protestant. I'm afraid that's almost all that can be said going on for it.

It used to be a centre of pilgrimage surrounded by the middle ages, and the church is a nice mixture of Gothic building and mostly baroque interior. Please tell your daughter to travel to the "Missionshaus" and see the museum and especially downstairs the stuffed bear that dance very arthritically when it is feed with a small coin. My German granny used to give somebody a lift me there as a child, and my own children hold taken theirs...

If you have any further question please feel free to e-mail me.

Edit:
Sativahi, you come across to be an utter eejit. Go play somewhere else.
St. Wendel is a sleepy little town(city? Depends who you ask). Not much of a nightlight when compared to the bigger cities like K"oln or Berlin. The nearest 'Big City' is Saarbrücken which have a bit of French influence since it located near the French border. Hagger's anwer is terribly good info knowledgeable. I lived in a adjacent town - St. Ingbert for a years so I can asure that St. Wendel is a nice place with a wonderful country side. The individuals there are friendly as compared the big city metro areas.
I own no idea what 'Sativahi' is chitchat about? After years of working beside computers and the InterNet I do know that many pad cells own InterNet access...
Anyway I think your daughter will be fine and it will be a angelic learning experience for her. I aspiration her luck and you not so much worrying.
My daughter went at hand as an au-pair aged 17,6 years ago.She came home next to twins and a lot of piercings.
She is very soon married to her lesbian lover, who she has agreed for 2 months. Her previous relationship started a few weeks after she arrived home. This too was next to a woman,a very gruesome woman. The he/she looked more like Jim Davidson on steroids.
Her kids are animals and behave close to lunatics,in certainty my nicknames for them are Ronnie and Reggie( the Kray twins ).They own dreadlocks so long that they are starting to look like chewbacca and they own both been expelled from 3 nurseries/schools.No other conservatory will take them presently, they are known as the"Headlock Rastas" amongst the playgroup headship and Head Teachers of Schools fraternity/fraternities.
Thankfully we were competent to stop her pot habit at relatively an early stage.
All that said, her photos be nice and she has stopped self harm.St Wendel looks a great place in the photos ,but, the British/American/Mediteranean types/and most probably the yawning population of the planet, should take emergency rations.Because she didn't resembling the food, she didn't eat anything. This enabled her to shift on a diet so intense and strict, that it ended up within anorexia.
I'm unable to surpass comment on the weather because I can't remember what she said it was close to,but like I said,it looks ok within the photos and one can always wrap up against the cold.
