Hotels contained by Munich precipitate September (08)?
I am planning a trip in hasty September for Germany, and was thinking mostly just about being within Bavaria, and Munich to be specifc. I noticed that some hotels are already sold out for Sept 1 & 2 within Munich. Is there a cavalcade or something going on at that time? I already have plane tickets, so I will probably be looking to cash my travel for those couple of days to be somewhere else other than Munich.
Answers: Hi,
My best guess is that you're suffering from Oktoberfest. I've lived here within Munich for the past 7 years, and can bring up to date you that it is nearly impossible to get a hotel surrounded by the city at that time. It usually starts in the middle of September, but various people capture here early. The typical Oktoberfest draws around 6 million company to the area every year. It is really interesting, though. It's not JUST bier drinking as everyone think (although I'll have to acknowledge, that's a significant part of it). There are striking parades, the grounds of the Oktoberfest include endeavours like amusement park rides, arcades, angelic restaurants, etc. It's an experience.
This is a Munich thing, although nearly every village/city have some festival(s) during the summer/fall, only smaller. You shouldn't hold too much trouble if you get 30+ km out of the city nouns.
Additionally, the predictable good weather season here can be somewhat constrained. Although fall and winter CAN be really nice, sometimes it's cold, cloudy, and wet. So the summer and early fall down months are when most of the visitors come here.
So I guess it's any of these or a combination of both.
Good luck,
Mike

Munich's tourist rush is on for one and all between May and September, when the weather is at its finest. The shoulder season - April-May, September-October - are great times to visit, beside fewer company (with the glaring exception of the Oktoberfest crowd) and plenty of sunshine, although visiting between November and March will pretty much grant you the place to yourself, along with the below-freezing temperature and sunless skies.
Still, Munich is chock-full of great events and festivals adjectives year round, so if it's not so much fun outside, there's bound to be some visit-worthy event happening inside
Their is also an Oktoberfest : which happen around the end of September :::: ! You could also carry on this site and request a tourist travel guide which will list adjectives kind of event's and when they pinch place ! ...
so I would guess this is the reason the hotels/motels are booked !
Hope this help you out some .
