Answers: The tangible question is how do I pare down the thousands of things to do within Germany to what I can go surrounded by a few days.
The major tourist attractions, Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, Unter den Linden, Fernsehturm, Potsdammer Platz can adjectives be seen from Busses 100 and 200 that resign from from Bahnhof Zoo.
I'd add to that visit one of Berlin's fantastic museums, her Dom, or cathedral, if churches interest you, The Kaiser Wilhelm Gedaechtniskirche if you are interested in WWII history (it be left as it be after the bombing of Berlin). You might also check out the site of Hitler's bunker on Volksstrasse, the Topgraphie of Terrors museum on that terrible time surrounded by the country's history. If you really have an interest contained by WWII, nearby Sachsenhausen concentration military camp and Wansee house might interest you, also.
Checkpoint Charlie and the Berlin Wall Memorial highlight the wall. You might also call in the new DDR museum, capably worth visiting.
For some stuff a moment or two out of the ordinary, you could stop by the Nicholaiviertel, a little medieval town center surrounded by the middle of Berlin (near Alex) which was the showpiece to the west. The Jewish Museum is stimulating both for it's design and it's collection, and the new Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe (near the Brandenburg Gate) is, also. If you can get to the documentation center underneath.
In the former west berlin -waaay out west, you can call round Schloss Charlottenhof, where Sophie Charlotte spent time - it's a stunning baroque palace. For more Baroque, take the S1 out to Potsdam. You can also journey through the Tiergarten, and visit some of the buildings within there, including the Victory column. You could drop by a neighborhood - hang out within the Haekescher Markt area for nightlife, or Prenzenlauer Berg.
This just scratches the surface, but you one and only have 3 days.
Well u will group many lovely Nazis that belt up foreigners in Berlin; a to the rear city - I hate it. Hi ladida,
I be in Berlin for two days. One of the days I spent doing the touristy item, took a fab bus tour of the city, and got stale at places I wanted to explore. Also, I visit the Altes Museum which is fantastic because of the artifacts and things related to Queen Nafertiti. I loved it. It's a must see if you like historic museums.
The second morning, well, i walk for hours in one direction, did some shopping, some drinking in unusual restaurants, and get a haircut!
Also a must see, the remains of the Berlin wall. It's slightly emotional to see.
Good luck and enjoy a great time!
Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, Unter den Linden, the TV tower at Alexanderplatz, and if you're American, Checkpoint Charlie and the museum there: That's what you should see as a tourist.
Unusual? Well, what do you miserable? Berlin has lots of unusual places. If you're so short on the dot, I'd recommend you join next to the locals and let them show you round their district, neighborhood, or "Kiez", as it is commonly call in Berlin.
