How do I attain from Munich to Neuschwanstein castle by public transport?

I'm going to Neuschwanstein castle on August 24th, does anyone know how I would get at hand from Munich via public transport, and how much this would cost?

Thanks very much!

Answers:    It shouldn't be that expensive. I would recommend what I did on my trip final year-- Train to Fuessen, then filch the bus to Hohenschwangau (the town). The bus stops are right next to the train station. For train/bus info, stop by www. bahn.de and follow the link for "Internat. Guests".

In certainty, I ran a timetable look into: http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.e...

The earliest train from Munich leaves at 4:57 AM, but it gets you to Hohenschwangau by more or less quater after 8. You want to get here early-- the ticket office open at 8, and it doesn't take long for long lines to form. You can also book tickets within advance online for a small allowance; check out http://www.hohenschwangau.de/546.0.html
Tickets seem to run around 20 euros.

On a side make a note of, I would highly recommend visit the castle of Hohenschwangau as well as Neuschwanstein. It's tidy in its own channel, and both castles are a nice passageway to fill up a time. Also, you might want to consider just going down the hours of darkness before, staying overnight at a local Gasthof, later coming back-- it can save a bit of hassle. (I recommend Haus Weiher-- http://www.bensbauernhof.com/pensionweih... . Nice little place run by an elder couple that's a reasonable step from the town of Hohenschwangau & the castles. That said, there's plenty of clad Gasthause & Gasthofe nearby.)

Have fun, & correct luck! I wish I be going, too!
Forget it, it will take ages and I assume you will be vacationing contained by Germany and dont have ages of time to gamble away. Much easier and better to book a trip e.g. from Munich to there. They own something like the gray stripe bus here in Munich. They will pinch you there directly and show you around and explain things Try checking out this page, it administer you directions via public transportation. It also gives you ticket information.

You can also purchase your train tickets online, www.bahn.de
Hello! Schloss Neuschwanstein is located surrounded by Schwangau im Allg"au. Best thing would be to help yourself to a train from München (Munich) to Schwangau, maybe the Rathaus. And after take a minicab to the castle. The train ticket would be around 20 Euros (approx. 27 dollars). Unfortunately I cannot tell you how much a hackney cab costs though. To check out train ticket/prices go here (you can book online too):
http://www.diebahn.de Not a clue, although I do know those trains will rob you ANYWHERE in Germany!

I of late wanted to tolerate you know how envious I am. I absolutely love Germany. You'll hold a wonderful trip! :)
