The weather within France within January is..?

I'm heading off to Paris surrounded by January and was wondering if it snows? I live within Australia near the shore so naturally surrounded by winter, there is no snow. Does it ever go and get below 0 degrees so I'm thinking I should bring a ski jacket near me, yes?
