A jazzy tavern within Paris?
jazz music
or just "jazzy" within the hip + groovy sense of the word
Answers: The place I hang out is Aux Trois Mailletz at 56 rue Galand contained by the 5th arr. There's a piano on the first floor (which is where you'll find me when I'm there) and a more nightclub approaching setting in the subterranean vault.
The music at the piano is varied beside both the house singers and various associates who sit in (like me for example). There's everything from opus to old standards (both French and English) to flat out jazz.
The crowd is a mix of regulars and tourists and society of all ages show up.
They hold pretty decent food and the prices are justifiable (for Paris). There is no cover charge or entrance fee.
Rue Mouffetard and environs - The nouns in the 5th on the south side of the hummock topped by the Panthéon has a bit bit of everything for the nighthawk, from the classy cafés of Place de la Contrescarpe to an Irish-American dive bar merely down the way to a hip, nearly buried jazz café at the bottom of the hill.
