A ask for my fellow Canadians?
A lot (but not all) of Americans and other non-Canadians see Canada as some vast frozen desolate tract where we adjectives live in igloos and run around wearing arctic gear. The question is, does this irritate or bother any Canadians. It honestly doesn't bother me. I cogitate it's kind of funny if truth be told, that so many culture would have so heaps misconceptions about Canada. But what do you expect? This question is also unseal to non-Canadians, to get a non-Canadian point of picture.
Answers: i think its pretty funny. adjectives the better if it keeps relatives away from our beautiful unspoiled country!
Its strange that people deem that. Canada is a messed up country in indubitable ways but not in that helpful of way! We live contained by houses, condos, apartments and such. It dosnt bother me cuz i kno where I live!
Five myths just about Canada you need to know in the region of!
1. Free health precision.
Canada's health fastidiousness is not free. It is funded by a heavy import tax
regime that takes unyielding earned money from even the working poor. If
you create $C20,000 a year. You will be taxed. Make more? Like $C75,000
and up? Oh, you can bet you will gain hit with taxes. In some
provinces close to Alberta, you also get the added privilege of
paying health comfort "premiums" on top of your taxes.
The big hospital union like the Registered Nurses and miscellaneous
so-called "para-professionals" have taken over the strength care
system and destroyed it. This is what happen when you create a
a monopoly, and worse, a government owned monopoly.
2. High standard of living
Huh? Since when? This country have one of North America's biggest
drug ghettos. It's called Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. Canadians
hold a lower per capita GDP than Americans. They also make smaller quantity
money than Americans, and ironically many other countries: Ireland,
Germany, Switzerland to entitle just a few.
3. Peaceful
Nope! There are newly as many act of violent crime, drug gang,
domestic murders in Canada as surrounded by the U.S. It's just never in step
for per capita, ie. the actual population of the two countries
and the size of the cities in respectively country. Canada has serial
killer, drug shootings, pollution, gang violence. How come we don't
hear much nearly this in the world's medium, the way the U.S.'s
problems are constantly brought up?
4. Strong cutback
No! Canadians just piggyback stale the U.S. economy and they still
can't govern to get their dismissal rate down to anywhere near
to the U.S. rate, which be hovering within the low 5's most recently.
Canada's rate have varied over the later decade or more from 11% to
a low of about 7%. The country purely sells stale its raw intuitive
resources rather than have a productive economy through
strong innovation or research. Yet the Canucks complain something like
selling those resources to the U.S. Huh?
5. Canadians are polite self effacing and humble
Whoa! Canadians are anything but polite and "European" as they
resembling to tell the world. Most Canadians I've met are uninformed,
boorish, self absorbed anti-American bigots. Go to a Canadian
workplace: see how they treat you, especially if you are a brown
or black soul.
Go to a restaurant or a store. The tone is very cold and "British"
surrounded by nature. Look at how they drive. I enjoy driven in Britain, the
U.S. (San Diego, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Seattle area).
Nowhere enjoy I seen such stupid to the rear drivers as I have see
in B.C. and Alberta.
Basically Canada wishes to have its huge pompous self enthralled ego
deflated. Canadians are hypocrites and they love to be delusional,
and self absorbed in the order of how great they are. The U.S. incidentally is the
country where closely of Canadians, (about 250,000 at last count), dance
to live well, retire and unsurprisingly, for employment. Hypocritical or
what?
Perhaps part of the problem is when living within a geographically large country, unless you hold the money/means to travel large distances, it can be sturdy get exposed to, and experience firsthand, the lives of other cultures.
Thus, silly misconceptions.
I've be to parts of BC, Alberta, & Saskatchewan.
This is one American who would have no problem moving to Canada.
CANADA IS A FANTASTIC COUNTRY OF RESOURCES/ BEAUTY AND CULTURE. THE BEST
It doesn't bother me. I am lately amazed that Americans know so little about Canada. Europeans / Asians/ Africans who pop in
know a lot more.. I find this blurry and ununderstandable why our neighbours know so little about a country that have the
many resources/ oil/ water/ and heritage.
For other uses of "Canada" or "Canadian", see Canada (disambiguation) and Canadian (disambiguation).
Canada
Canada is the 2nd Largest contained by area surrounded by the World after Russia
Canada (IPA: /'kaend/) is a country occupying most of northern North America, extending from the Atlantic Ocean within the east to the Pacific Ocean in the west and northward into the Arctic Ocean. We do in Canada / Neighbours are big today, especially when we stand together in arms./lets cram about respectively other
It doesn't bother me at all. We know who we are. And I hold slept in an igloo!
It doesn't bother me. Many Canadians capture annoyed at how little Americans know about Canada becasue we know so much just about the US but that is solely becasue we really rely on them as a country, and to them we are not very noteworthy. I love the video "talking to americans" on The Rick Mercer Report. It is so funny, and the Americans adjectives look so dumb. I think they are description of stupid, but its not their fault.
It dosen't bother me. I Just chuckle it off.
It does construct me wonder how we can live so close to the U.S.A and they seem to know zilch about us, though.
i have an idea that it's funny, because we are so close to them , why would they think its adjectives ice and igloos xD, pretty funny.
within the summer its pretty hot here though... but i live in toronto..ontario pretty close to the states, so i guess i could'nt really voice much about the northern part of the pack of our country, but im pretty sure that places like british columbia , newfoundland, P.E.I , etc. aren't frozen wastelands xD..
do Americans also deliberate that Alaska is a frozen wasteland next to igloos? that'd be pretty funny if they thought that southern canada is, and not Alaska lol.
it funny how ignorant some empire are
i die laughing everytime i hear a comment like that from non canadians. it amazes me how much others know of Canada. but still it kill me everytime i hear that. i think they adjectives need to see this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRI-A3vak...
i think this will really assist them. its also a very funny commercial!!
I freshly generally assume that those who subscribe to those myths give or take a few Canada and Canadians are joking. For those who honestly believe that we live within igloos, chew on raw stamp blubber and have a moment ago this day studious about electricity, I compassionately like to set the register straight.
I don't think anyone's misconceptions are borne out of unkindness but if those misconceptions result in unenthusiastic behaviour towards any given group later I am disturbed by them and feel correct in setting the transcript straight. Again, gently and next to respect.
I think americans are newly ignorant and other stereotype countries outside of america or think they enjoy the same stuff as surrounded by the US, it is unbelievable how dumb some of them are...
It's ok to judge about the igloos, I doesn't bother me anything they think, perchance we should start thinking they have the yogui take on and his friend bubu living in the streets as economically as they think we own polar bears wandering around
I don't reckon anybody actually believes Canadians live within igloos. They're just playful you. Just ask them if you can see their gun (or whatever stereotype applies to their nationality).
It doesn't bother me if this is what race think. At lowest we're not known as war-crazy Republicans.
Now, that would bother me.
Im from Ontario, but have to travel to South Carolina for 6 months out of every year.
I actually met a woman who thought that polar bear and penguins were a adjectives sight for us. They also come up with Canadians are alcoholicsd!
Everybody enjoys man smarter than others, and if others seem smaller quantity than smart we enjoy that.
Everybody is stupid roughly something
