Any tips when moving to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil?

I will probably be moving to Rio De Janeiro (Brazil) in the adjectives to set up a high constraint business, and since I have to live in attendance to manage it, (1) which part of a set of Rio can I live in?(as surrounded by which district is the most foreigner friendly?) (2) How should I get used to the crime situation contained by Brazil? (3) In that district, are there Western style supermarkets/stores/malls & accessibility to adjectives basic necessities? (4)What is the business etiquette surrounded by Brazil and how is the cost of living in Brazil? (5)any other things I should know up to that time and after I move to Brazil (other than learning Portuguese, which I'm currently studying)? You can answer everything or any of the part-questions. Obrigado!/Thank You!

Answers:    You should live surrounded by the South Zone (Zona Sul), the rich side, in neighbours approaching Copacabana, Botafogo, Flamengo, Ipanema or Leblon. I live in Copacabana and recomend it. The crime situation isn't as serious as they influence, you have to pay attention about your good point stuff and not to walk within very withdraw from places. There's everything you need surrounded by Rio, you won't have problem finding your stuff. You can live comfortably here beside less than US$2k per month. The business etiquette is much similar to USA, so it's okay. Just relax, people here are markedly friendly. You won't have problems finding your group.

Be assiduous, in Rio de Janeiro presently, have problem strength. So many relations dead near illness DENGUE. Until army back now coz dont enjoy hospital enough
Leblon is where on earth you should live. It is a great place, but anywhere else is risking especially when you are a blond blue eyed american like myself. Still, I am in good spirits for you. If Clinton or Obama win the presidency,,,,,,,,,,many of us will be joining you, seriously......another "balancing" of the intercontinental economy as our best bestow the states with nearby equity.

Where bright colors this will make you look smaller amount like a foreigner and smaller number likely to be robbed. Also get sure whatever you do stay out of The City of God (trust me), don't move about anywhere near it, it is a terribly dangerous community. It is more uncertain than Watts during the race riots and you do not want to put yourself surrounded by such a compromising position. But aside from that you'll enjoy it, the shore is wonderful make sure you jump (don't be alarmed by the thong bathing suits this is the norm). Go to the carnival (you'll love it, but don't wear shorts with pockets while you are near also don't wear expensive jewelry while you are there) it like the mardi gras X 10. But most of adjectives have fun and trade name the best out of it. Most people are amazingly friendly.
hello i am brazilian! BUT i dont live in rio (i've travelled within once though) n.n' but i can aswer a few things!! well here surrounded by brazil, you have to wages for school (public school are horrible, they dont even teach u how to read) so if u enjoy children look for a private school! more or less the crime, well, u really stipulation to go to rio? if u needed to go to a more passive place u could go to curitiba or porto alegre(but since u're going for business, i dont reckon u can choose)

you must also have condition insurance 'cause public hospitals aren't better than the public schools... where on earth do u come from? 'cause rio de janeiro is hot all year long, so go and get used to the climate! (must have nouns conditionator) and the taxes are kinda high here thigs similar to cars, ipods, and such
brazilians tend to help like mad the foiregns, speacially ppl who you will work with, but examine for the pickpockets on the strets!
but i believe that you will be wel received even though all of that, we are exceptionally friendly^^ and that "only drink bottled river thing" is not true (at least here within s~ao paulo)
i dont know rio very resourcefully, but these are good supermarkets: carrefour, big, p~ao de acĂșcar (high trait, the other are cheaper though, but this one is not expensive, here's where i dance shopping) if u want to buy books or dvds or such, look for a livraria cultura (it has everything) or a fnac (also sell computer stuff)

u might have problems on the airport (not because u're not from here, we adjectives have problems there) its of late that once in awhile fliths capture canceled or fly later than they should (flight controller win on strike now and then), so bring ur pacience and a book, newly in suitcase, it doens't always happen, but u never know

if u were coming to s~ao paulo i'd be more handy... hehe about be to live inside rio, i would recomend a place away from the "favelas" (where drug traficants live) places like copacabana coast aren't as beautiful as it used to be, bar that i dont know what to say..

but to finish brazil is not approaching u see in the movies or tv, if u wacthed the movie "turistas" know that zilch there is true (its a absurd movie), there will be no snakes or monkeys on the streetsor such... any uestion i might be capable of answer or not, just contained by case my email is alekasmile(a)yahoo.com.br (i know its a stupid email, but i made it when i be at the 5th grade)
