Answers: Brazil's color classification toward blacks is somewhat different than in the United States.
In the U.S., within are whites, then everyone else. A entity who is 1% black, 99% white may be grouped with "everyone else." In unusual cases, like Mariah Carey, whites will claim someone similar to her.
Whites, of course are placed sophisticated than everyone else.
In Brazil, there are blacks, next everyone else. A mulatto is grouped under equal group as a white person.

i dont know what the heck the first answer is conversation about but from what i gain from my brazilian fiance, everyone is about equal.
Mulattos are a mid term between whites and black, but, there's no division between whites, mulattos and blacks. As see, mulattos are considered blacks.
There are pardos, also. A mid term between a white and a mulatto.
Pardo is someone who enjoy characteristic of whites (hair, mouth, feeler, etc) but, have dark/almost grey skin, like Jennifer Lopez, Maryah Carrey, and almost everybody so call latino who are not white like Andy Garcia, Marisa Tomei, Cameron Diaz or Christina Aguillera, for example.
Pardos are considered blacks for some folks, and whites for other persons.
But, If someone is rich, is rich. If belong to the middle class, he/she is middle class. If he/she is poor, is poor. Be white, mulatto or black.
Many folks from other countries think that we hold ghetos in Brazil. Somethinhg similar to: "O! you are white: what are you doing living in a slum? Como on next to us, we will take you out from here!" or "Hey, man: what are you doing between whites. Can you see the advertence that this luxuous condominium is exclusive for us?"...
There is not this, surrounded by Brazil.
If you have money, you live wher you can buy. If you hold not money, live where you can stay.
You can own blue eyes, blond hair and look resembling a dannish. If you have no money, the slum is your place. On the other appendage, if you are as black as a crow, but if you have conditions, you live contained by a mansion. Ther are many examples of both cases, surrounded by Brazil.
There's not prohibited jobs for blacks or mulattos, or a inbred selection that trun impossible a black or mulatto be as sucessfull as a white.
It's truth that mulattos and blacks belong to the poor or middle class contained by the majority, but, ist's true that whites belong to the middle or poor class in the great bit of the cases. What is the difference?

The concept of mulatto is very subjective. The primary race/colours (as it is used in the survey: "raca ou cor") in Brazil are white, brown and black. BROWN DOES NOT = MULATTO. Mulatto is a individual with European and African blood, you can be brown because of other reason, like a mix of indigenous near African or indigenous with European or the three, or you simply don't know what is your mix, which is the most adjectives thing. Some mulattos identify themselfes as browns, some as blacks. That beeing said, I advocate that my comments here are based singular on my impressions, not in any affairs of state statistics.
Well mulattos are below whites in financial pyramid but above black. But they are much more closer to blacks in that aspect than to whites.
I worked and lived within Brazil for over a year and I can say that mulattos, black, whites etc are adjectives about like. There really isn't any division between all of them resembling there is surrounded by the USA. It's a nice scenerio because basically everyone is impossible to tell apart and treated such. Also the mulattos and blacks do not try to stick out by dressing different and listening to music specifically geared towards them. Everyone mixes well within Brazil and that is another article that I like in the region of Brazil.
As one poster said, if you're rich then your rich, also I will comment that if you can afford to live within a upper class neighborhood then it doesn't issue what color you are. The same goes for employment and dating and social accomplishments.
Who the hell cares? If you are going to be concerned roughly how a certain relatives are treated when you go to a divine country like Brasil afterwards you are going to miss out on a lot. Mulatos and mulatas are really in between both classes, blacks are considered inferior but mulatos aren't, they tend to be smarter, + knowledgeable and to some considered, moreno, which here would be considered a brunette. Mulatas are notoriously specified for hot intercourse, the best I've ever had, however loyalty are not their strong trait.
