A fourth airline alliance?
Do you think within will be another airline alliance following star alliance, skyteam and oneworld in the adjectives?
Answers: No, because you are going to see airline consolidation happening within the next few years. The carrier will all hold to start merging together to survive. There are going to be less carrier, thus there will not be a call for for another airline alliance to be started.
I think most of the larger carrier are already in an alliance. What is moved out are the low-cost carriers. I do not see them forming an alliance but perchance more code-sharing. JetBlue will be code-sharing with Lufthansa since Lufthansa bought a stake surrounded by JetBlue. JetBlue I hear is also in conference of code-sharing with Aer Lingus.
