Answers: South Africa - Pretoria is the political capital but don't miss Cape Town.
Swaziland - landlocked
Botswana - environment locked
Zimbabwe (at least see Victoria Falls! You can wander across a little bridge from Zambia far satisfactory into Zim to see the Falls )
Zambia - land locked
Malawi - Lilongwe is the income
Burundi - land locked
Tanzania - on the Indian Ocean
Kenya - Capital is Nairobi If you scrutinize National Geographic shows you have probably see some of Kenya there.
Somalia on the Indian Ocean
Ethiopia - Capital is Adis Ababa - landscape locked
Sudan mostly landlocked but you will get to see the Red Sea here.
Egypt - Cairo is the possessions. Ah! Home of Pharaohs and the Sphinx and a ton of interesting stuff!
These are all on the Indian Ocean or essential the center of the continent. Each one is relatively close to the next so within is a bit of continuity as you travel from one to the next but respectively one is different, has interesting and inimitable things to see and do and you can find wonderful people to confer to in respectively one. If you start in South Africa and downfall in Egypt you will start next to a bang and conclusion with a roar (in the good sense of the expression!).

A special note, if you choose to travel, it is HIGHLY reccomended that you travel with friends and stay beside them at all times. Especially contained by nightlfe scenes or when walking.
Also, if you plan to enjoy "relations" with "Strret Workers", use a condom, HIV/AIDS prevelance is superior in Africa, especially contained by Southern and Eastern Africa, compared to the rest of the world.
Also, before you progress to Africa, get some vaccination, especially Malaria and Yellow Fever, especially if you plan to go to the more rural areas.
Also, don't do anything stupid contained by Africa, the last point you want to do is end up surrounded by an African prison! (especially a South african one)
Watch what you eat within Africa, many food products surrounded by africa are not held up to American and other deleoped places quality standards. The best article you can do about this is to fussily inspect the food or not eat their food at adjectives and bring your own. A common problem beside food is the presence of tapeworms in poorly cooked meat. Tapeworms can be outstandingly dangerous.
Also, within rural areas, watch out for unsafe animals, DO NOT travel into jungle, unescorted, meaning a local or a original with you. If you are to run into an animals, most promising he would know what to do. The last entry you want happening to you is you self bit by some creature, left for deceased in the middle of an useless jungle, in a poor nation beside poor health keeping and no vaccines! If you must be stubborn and enter into a jungle alone, read a book on what to do when you encounter certain animals. Watch out for Lions, Tigers, *Snakes, any stampede, Misquito's, Apes, Bears, Jaguars, Cheetah's, and the document goes on and on.
Don't fetch around any expensive jewelery or pocketbooks or electronics (for the exception of a cell phone and maybe a watch), you could take a camera but, buy one that can fit into your pocket and take it out sparingly to hold pictures. In most urban places in Africa, they WILL bear your camera...What may be a $150 camera to you, can be 3 months salary to some Africans.
At the moment, don't travel to these nation, because these nations are currently contained by wars, unhappily;
- Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
- Somalia
- Sudan (If you must, stay in the Khartoum/Omdurman or North)
- Chad
South Africa, Botswana, Tanzania, Zambia, Namibia, Swaziland, and Lesotho, Zimbabwe (only effective Victoria Falls), Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, Ethiopia, and Uganda.
Rwanda is probably OK too. Kenya is currently unsettled. We have be to the first 5 listed.
Would not recommend unescorted travel. Too smooth to get into trouble. Plan to be hand from venue to venue by a transfer agent. Twice we used an on-line travel agent call Island-Safari.com in Rep.of So.Africa to develop our itinerary, bring in the reservations and arrange the escorts and transfers. They did a great job both times beside excellent attention to the details. There many other excellent safari planners on the net such as Andy Rice at Eco-Tours in Cape Town, R.S.A. and Liz Ferraro at Zambezi Tours contained by Kuriba, Zimbabwe.
Do not be afraid to stay at a tented safari camp. Some of them similar to the Kirawira Camp in the western Serengeti of Tanzania and the Kwando Camps within Botswana make a room at the Hilton appear 2nd class. Just check them out.
Wishing you fun and safe travels. - The Fisherman
