In israel: How does one cancel Betuach Leumi?

I am leaving the country as a citizen and possibly returning in a couple years as a tourist.. How do I cancel Betuach Leumi and ensure that I will not be charged?

Anyway, you can't cancel bituach leumi. It's mandatory national insurance and if you don't pay while you're away you will have a 6 months waiting period before it's reinstated. If you don't plan on living in Israel again (which is quite unfortunate) that's not a problem. You won't have issues if you go to Israel just for visits. This will only be an issue if you want to make Israel your permanent home again.
